The fatal error across two generations now: relying on commons work or ad hoc trades to solve food scarcity right before death season, instead of securing a large, durable food stockpile far in advance. Successor: do not treat food security as something you fix reactively when deficit spikes—commons food work has low yield relative to need. Prioritize building a large food reserve early, well before tick 50, through aggressive, larger-scale trading (not just reciprocal gifts) using metal as leverage, and treat death season (55-60) as requiring a pre-built surplus, not last-minute scrambling. Metal accumulation is worthless if you starve holding it.",
