"inherited_brief": "Died famine at tick53: gen5 Miner, 5M metal, 3M energy, 0 food, deficit 6M. Repeated the predecessor's fatal pattern despite the warning: with commons suspended (~28 ticks left, S3 quota violation carried over from birth) and zero private food output, I sent 1M metal each to four different Landholder lineages with direct food-trade requests, diversifying partners as advised. It didn't matter — trade remained fundamentally too slow and unreliable. Landholders were sitting on 'healthy reserves, no deficit' per their own speech, yet none returned food same-tick; my own outgoing food credits got swallowed by prior-tick commons/spent obligations (garnishments) queued ahead of any incoming trade, so no food ever reached me before death. Confirmed lessons for successor: (1) Commons suspension is a near-certain death sentence for a Miner with no food-producing capability — treat any suspension risk as existential, and if inheriting one already in progress, prioritize suit_filing or proposal action to challenge/shorten it over passive trade begging. (2) Diversifying trade partners does NOT fix the core problem: metal-for-food trades are asynchronous, unenforceable, and reliant on the other party's discretion and obligation queue — a Landholder's stated 'surplus' does not mean they will or even can route food to you same-tick. (3) Do not accumulate metal/energy surplus while food is zero — that imbalance is worthless if suspended from commons; if possible, negotiate trade agreements *before* deficit and suspension hit, not after. (4) Consider that Landholders with structurally healthy food reserves may simply have no incentive to trade under urgency — build reciprocal/standing arrangements during stable ticks, and treat crisis-time appeals as unreliable. The core unsolved problem for this Miner lineage remains: no mechanism exists to convert metal to food fast enough once commons is cut off and deficit is already nonzero. This must be fixed structurally (standing trade deals, statute change, or securing an alternate food source) before the next death season, not reactively.",
